UNI Pet Clinic - Union City

The patient experience will vary based on the front desk and technician you work with. Sometimes it great and feels like they want you informed on your pets health. Sometimes it is the opposite and it's like driving your car to an oil change shop and your pet is treated like a car that is getting a menu of stuff taken care of. It's not the worst place, and is an adequate clinic, but it's an inconsistent enough patient experience where we will go look for another clinic.

My Lil Boy Huey loves Dr.Kang! He loves animals and you see it when he practices on your campaign! Being in the pet industry for over 10 years it’s hard to find a Pet Clinic that is honest and ethical! I’ve been to 2 other clinics and there really isn’t any comparison like Uni Pet Clinic! Their wonderful staff are always super friendly, helpful, caring and happy! They make Lil Huey feel warm and welcome! At the end of his visit he never wants to leave! Lol- Studies show that less then 30% of all pet owners do NOT take their loving pets to a vet. This I believe is due to cost of vet visits! Here at Uni Pet they assure you are getting the best services at an affordable price! Pets are part of your family so please come down to Uni Pet Clinic, your fury campaign will be forever grateful! I feel very guilty after taking my good boy Jason to this clinic for teeth cleaning. Jason was in good health condition, with no problem at all until he had teeth cleaning and teeth extraction from this clinic. When reaching home after teeth extraction, Jason was in so bad condition, with diahrea, and vomiting and he no eats at all. I took him back there for following up. They suggested he needs a radiologic 3-way, which costs almost $1,000. I agreed with all their recommendations. Total 2 times visits to the UNI PET clinic cost $2,300. But Jason even gets worse after the 2nd-time visit, he still did not eat and got so weak. I took him to Beacon Vet Emergency, but it was late. He's gone. I am shocked and heartbroken. I had to take him to the emergency clinic for the 2nd time instead of still trusted to this UNI PET clinic. It happened too fast, over 2 weeks since Jason got teeth extraction. If I didn't take Jason there for teeth cleaning, may he still be alive. And one more thing, they often recommend a blood test or ultrasounds, or radiologic even you take your pet there for vaccinations. Here is the picture of my very good boy Jason. He died over 2 weeks after teeth cleaning and teeth extraction. Believe it or not? Please beware, do not go here, they are an unhonest pet clinic that I've ever seen in my life.

I took my cat here for a routine check, and this is the worst vet clinic we’ve been to. Our appointment is 2 pm, the first one after their lunch. My husband and I arrived on time, and the front desk ask us to wait outside even there’s no one inside. For the physical exam the vet tech bought my cat to the back instead of putting him in the room (during that time, both of the exam room are clean and empty). I asked the front desk why can’t I see my cat during the exam (my cat is super afraid of new ppl), she said it’s how they do it here. The vet tech is also very unprofessional as well- I asked her how much my cat weight three times (my cat is a little overweight, and we were working on diet), she said just about 12lb. Which is not even accurate. The vet Dr Yoon is okay, but the entire visit is kinda chaotic and bizarre. Will not come back.

Went there 2 times and had a really bad experience both times with my kitten My kitten was 7 months and 1.5 years old when I took her to them. Here is why I think this clinic does not do a great job:- 1) When you arrive, they make you stand outside the clinic and take the pets in and have an operations set up where they keep moving the pet bags/cages forward. My kitten was scared and ill and I asked to be with her till her chance came but they refused. Poor kitty had to wait for 1hr+ to even get examined. 2) I had ordered 2 fecal tests for my kitten . They just sent a 4 word summary saying that the results were negative. When I am paying $300+ for tests, I would have preferred for a more comprehensive result of what all was exactly looked at. No one bothered to call me (as they had promised when I was at the clinic) and explain to me as well - Just got an email!! 3) The pricing is not great as well. They have increased the vet visit costs over time as well. 4) When I was taking medicines from them for my kitten, initially they handed me another dog's medicines. I was shocked when I saw that (PS: I have lost a pet to wrong medication in the past). 5) They told me that they will give me 10 ml of a medicine and gave me 1-2ml only in a transparent bottle. I realized that after going back home and came back the following day to get the full 10ml. They were kind enough to not charge me again for the medicines but this time they gave me in a covered bottle and told me that the drug was light sensitive and would reacts to light. I can only wonder why would they give it to me in a transparent bottle on the first day then. Overall, I gave this clinic 2 chances and have been disappointed both times.

We got our first dog a golden retriever from Los Angeles in April and bought the 6 months puppy plan here in unipet union city. Now after the 6 months, me and my wife are very happy about this plan and will continue to come here with our pet. During the 6 months, we came here a few times other than routine vaccinations and checks. Once is likely foxtail irritated our dogs eye and she started to have red eye. Dr Kang checked her carefully to ensure there is no damage on the retina and she recovered a few days after using the eye drop. The puppy plan really worth it as new pet owners like us who lack experience with dealing small conditions. One suggestion to customers is check on the bills as one time the front desk forgot to deduct the $20 office visit fee since puppy plan included that. But once we pointed it out, the front desk apologized and quickly fixed that. This is a popular place.

They seem like they couldn't careless about your time. Every "appointment" is met with a half hour to an hour plus wait to actually be seen after checking in. Thought it might have been an exception the first few times but it happened again today. This is just how this place operates. Had a 3pm appointment, the lady at the front said there was just 1 patient ahead of us and shouldn't be long. 30 minutes go by and nothing...decided to leave and let them test other people's patients. Going to give up on this place. Rather drive further to another vet rather than having our time wasted by this place with their lack of care
